Lodonian of the Month – Feb 2019

When RKS swept all Deans trophies in 2017, became the first Fijian team to win the Scots College Invitational 7s and Sanix World Youth Championship, maintained their 100% record in the Deans Final and the Lodoni Rugby Club winning promotion and the Koroturaga Championship in 2018, many felt tbat it was the beginning of an era. And indeed it was.

Yesterday, the RKSOB Lodoni Rugby Club team lost narrowly to Police in their first game of the 2019 Suva Rugby Union Premier Competition. But earlier this year, RKS students and former students walked away with most of the Fiji Rugby Union 2019 Awards.

The words of former Principal, Amaraya Naidu back in 1984, “RKS and its students are the standards” were proving prophetic. 35 years later, when it is extremely rare to find successful rugby standard setters to continue to inspire our younger brothers, the Lodonian of the Month for February 2019 and 1977 Lion Tamer, Fiji Rugby Union Hall of Famer Ratu Ilaitia Tuisese, shines through and we thank The Fiji Sun, for highlighting his achievements.
